Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang joined Barcelona and his status will be formalized on Tuesday (1/2) local time.
Aubameyang was signed by Barcelona on the last day before the close of the January transfer window. The Gabon player joined the Blaugrana after breaking his contract with Arsenal.
According to Sport, Aubameyang has signed a contract at Barcelona for 18 months and earns less than what he earned at the Gunners. Aubameyang's official introduction as a new Barcelona player is expected to take place Tuesday at 09.30 local time.
Aubameyang arrived at Barcelona after experiencing a difficult situation in his career. The 32-year-old striker was left out of the squad and lost the Arsenal captain's armband due to various disciplinary issues.
Aubameyang is Barcelona's fourth signing of the January transfer window. He followed in the footsteps of Dani Alves, Ferran Torres and Adama Traore who had already joined Xavi Hernandez's squad.
The presence of Aubameyang also made Xavi able to freely mix his team's front lines. This is because Aubameyang has the ability to play as a winger and center forward.
Aubameyang played for four seasons at Arsenal. In that span of time, he played in 163 games scoring 92 goals and 21 assists.
