Damon Albarn Finally Apologizes After Taylor Swift Shows Anger After She Was Accused Of Not Being Able To Write Her Own Songs. Damon Even Calls Billie Eilish Better Than Taylor.
Two popular musicians Taylor Swift and Damon Albarn have recently become a hot topic of conversation among fans. That's because Damon just flicked the name Taylor Swift.
Through an interview, Damon openly said Taylor could not write his own songs. Even Damon believes that Taylor did not write all the songs he sings.
The British musician also compared Taylor's ability to Billie Eilish. Damon openly admits that he likes Billie's work more than Taylor.
"He didn't write his own songs," Damon said in an interview with the Los Angeles Times. "I know what co-writing is. Co-Writing is very different from Writing (writing yourself).
I don't hate anyone, I'm just saying there's a big difference between a songwriter and a songwriter who co-wrote. Particularly interesting songwriters are Billie Eilish and her sister. I'm more interested in that than Taylor Swift."
Regarding Damon's statement, Taylor was furious. He immediately gave clarification on Damon's accusations. He asserted that he actually wrote all the lyrics of the song himself.
Taylor doesn't mind if Damon doesn't like the song. However, Taylor regretted Damon saying bad things about his work. He even called Damon's statement very damaging and had offended him.
Now, Damon expressed his apology after he was criticized by many Taylor fans. Through his Twitter account, Damon apologized to Taylor for speaking wrongly about his work.
According to Damon, his interview was only cut short on his critique of Taylor. Thus, the public tends not to see the full interview and further explanation from Damon about Taylor's work.
That's why, many parties immediately condemned it all out. Damon asked Taylor to understand and accept his apology.
"I totally agree with you. I had a conversation about songwriting and unfortunately it was reduced to clickbait," wrote Damon's apology. "I apologize selflessly and unconditionally. The last thing I want to do is discredit your songwriting. I hope you understand.
